Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle beach, South Carolina. She worked later as morning news anchor at WCBD TV and was a crime reporter. When she was in Charleston O'Dell's reporting regarding the police's lenient approach towards DUI cases caused a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that resulted in State authorities issuing the strictest guidelines regarding these cases. Ms. O'Dell received the Best Report of the Media Award in South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell was then employed by NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as an investigative journalist prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. O'Dell anchors the main newscast for Access Hollywood. In addition she is a contributor to NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. She has also hosted The Miss America Pageant as well as the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
